Donate Life Month is a national celebration and honors the generosity of organ, eye and tissue donors and their families. It is also a time when those who have either received or continue to wait for lifesaving transplants are commemorated. The designation of April as Donate Life Month informs the public of the need for more donors and encourages registration on the South Carolina Organ and Tissue Donor Registry.
Donate Life South Carolina, partnering with We Are Sharing Hope SC and the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, kicks off the month-long celebration with a joint press conference at the South Carolina State House in Columbia. These teams work together throughout the month to bring awareness to all communities and to increase the number of registered donors through planned events throughout South Carolina. View the press release for details of planned activities in the community with our statewide partnerships.
Each year during National Donate Life Month, donation and transplantation organizations and partners across the country promote the colors and raise awareness on National Donate Life Blue & Green Day. During National Donate Life Month in April, you’ll see lots of blue and green…the official Donate Life colors.
Why not join the partners, volunteers, SCDMV offices, and surrounding hospitals by taking part in the many Donate Life activities. We invite you to share the community spirit by wearing blue and green and spread the word through social media. Check back to this page often to learn more details on planned events.
